Point Pleasant Beach & Point Pleasant Boro

Point Pleasant Beach- Combines the architectural charm of past eras with the trendy amenities of today. Home to more than 5000 year round residents Point Pleasant Beach became independent of Brick Township in 1886. Located on the Barnegat Peninsula, Point Pleasant Beach is most famous for its white sandy beaches and one mile stretch of Boardwalk amusements. In the early 1900's Clark’s Landing was the center for amusement in the area but in 1915 Point Pleasant’s famous Boardwalk was constructed and eventually transformed into the famous amusement playground it is today. The Point Pleasant Beach School District serves students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Schools in the district are G. Harold Antrim Elementary School for grades K-8 and Point Pleasant Beach High School for grades 9-12 In addition to the students of Point Pleasant Beach, the district serves students from Bay Head and Lavallette for grades 9-12 and those from Mantoloking for K-12.

Point Pleasant Boro - Year round residents enjoy the calm and serenity of traditional small town living in the winter months and the eventful fast paced Jersey Shore living during the summer months. Home to more than 20,000 Point Pleasant Boro was originally settled by people of English decent who were mainly farmers and boat builders. At one time the community was a booming logging center where trees were shipped out of the Beaver Dam Creek. The Point Pleasant Canal was built about three quarters of a century ago and this two mile ditch had been a dream of local planners since the early part of the nineteenth century. During WWII the canal was used as a thoroughfare for marine ships to safely pass through the Manasquan Inlet to the Barnegat bay.

The Canal & Beaver Dam Creek areas are now an alluring favorite of homeowners who appreciate boating, fishing and waterfront living throughout the year. Bay Head Shores is one neighborhood that takes advantage of canal front & bay-front homes where residences enjoy the history and beauty the borough has to offer. Bay Head Shores has even been home to the Academy Award Winner Joe Pecci the infamous Goodfellas actor.

The Point Pleasant Boro school district consists of Ocean Road Elementary, Nellie Bennett
Elementary, Memorial Middle and Point Pleasant Borough High School. 

The NJ Transit rail line runs services to New York and northern Monmouth county towns daily and is extremely convenient for commuters who live in Point Pleasant Beach and Boro.

These two independent municipalities have much to offer its residents and are two great places to reside at the Jersey Shore.
